Inflammatory Bowel Disease Expertise and Support
Nationally Ranked Pediatric Care
Cincinnati Children’s is ranked among the best children’s hospitals in the nation by U.S. News & World Report for more than 15 years. Our Gastroenterology and GI Surgery programs are ranked number 1 in the nation in the 2025-26 list of Best Children’s Hospitals published by U.S. News & World Report. Families choose us because they want care at a top-ranked pediatric center.
Innovative Treatments and Research Access
Our center leads investigator-initiated clinical trials that move quickly from research into patient care. This means your child may have access to new therapies not widely available elsewhere.
We also offer therapeutic endoscopy and personalized medication dosing. These tools help us match treatment to your child’s specific needs.
Coordinated, Whole-Child Care
IBD affects more than the digestive tract. We look at nutrition, growth, mental health and daily life.
Our team-based care model includes dietitians, colorectal specialists, clinical pharmacology, behavioral medicine and other experts. We meet regularly to review complex cases and align on one clear plan.
Families also value our dedicated nurse coordinators. After your first visit, the nurses help manage questions, symptoms and follow-up care.
Convenient Access Across the Region
We offer visits at multiple regional locations and provide telehealth for many follow-up appointments. About 40% of our patients come from outside the Greater Cincinnati area.
Our program coordinator helps families seeking second opinions by scheduling appointments, building an itinerary and answering questions before the first visit. We work closely with your child’s primary care provider to ensure smooth communication and ongoing support at home.
Proven Outcomes in a High-Volume Center
We care for over 1,200 children and teens with IBD each year. Despite our size, we maintain strong outcomes through ImproveCareNow (ICN), an international network focused on improving IBD results for children.
High volume, strong outcomes and personalized care mean your child receives experienced treatment designed to support long-term health.
